Vicariation Principles

Disease evolution (vicariation) and Disease reversal (see Table)

Vicariation or Disease evolution is a gradual impairment of cellular function caused by Homeostatic disruption.

Functional Phase

The Functional phase of Vicariation is caused by deficiency of the biochemical nutrients and it is characterised by diminished function. Symptomatology is mild and pertinent to the physiological system. Laboratory findings are normal, but detailed biochemical assessment will show deficiencies of some vital nutrients.

Humoral Phase

A humoral phase is caused by increased toxic elimination by the capillary and lymphatic systems. In cases of incomplete elimination, increased excretion will be replaced by acute inflammations.
The Matrix phase will ensue in cases where a local inflammatory reaction would not achieve toxic removal. Tissue will be gradually engorged by side metabolites and Homeostatic disruption is significant.

Degeneration and Malignant Stage

The final stage of Vicariation is cellular degeneration and neoplasm alteration (a cellular phase) due to a complete breakdown of the cellular homeostasis.

Summary

Bio regulatory therapy aims to reverse this process towards early pathophysiological phases. The therapeutical process brings a resolution in reversal steps and patients experience mild aggravation during induced toxic elimination. Temporary aggravation will resemble symptoms at the time of developing the vicariation phase. Effective physiological excretion is also the preventative aspect of Bioregulatory medicine which recognises the need to halt disease process by homeostatic maintenance.
